Networking & Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi Problems We Solve.
Slow Wi-Fi
Imaging files are large. Practice management software is cloud-based. EMR systems live on the network. Slow Wi-Fi is the difference between a smooth chair turn and a frustrated patient. We design networks for the loads dental and medical offices actually carry.
Devices dropping offline
Devices that drop offline mid-procedure are a clinical problem, not just an IT one. We use Cat6/6A cabling, business-grade access points, and proper VLAN segmentation so the X-ray, the chair, the front desk, and the doctor’s tablet all stay connected.
Spotty coverage
Operatories with no signal. Conference rooms that work for half the team. We do site surveys during construction so APs land where they should — not where it’s convenient to mount them after the ceiling is closed.
Dead zones
Back office. X-ray rooms. Sterilization corridors. The places staff actually need signal often get the worst coverage. We design AP placement around clinical workflow, not square footage.
Guest Networks
Patient Wi-Fi should never share a network with imaging or EMR. We segment guest networks on their own VLAN by default — secure for the practice, simple for the patient.
Faulty Routers
Consumer routers fail. We install business-grade gear (Ubiquiti, Cisco-class) with proper power protection and remote management so the network keeps running when the office is closed.
What Good Networking Feels Like
Patients check in and the system finds them. Imaging loads fast. The doctor’s tablet stays connected through the whole exam. The front desk hands a tablet to the next family without thinking about whether it’ll work. That’s a good network. It’s invisible. Cruz Connect builds it during your construction so it’s there from the day you open.
