How it Started
Cruz Connect started where most low-voltage shops don’t — inside healthcare construction. After years of pulling cable, terminating racks, and fighting bad coordination on commercial buildouts, it became clear that dental and medical offices needed a contractor who treated low-voltage as construction, not an afterthought. So we built one.
Where it went
What started as a few jobs grew into a focused practice. Today we run network, security, AV, smart-building, and IT scope on dental, medical, and specialty healthcare buildouts — brought in early by general contractors and staying on the project from rough-in through opening day. We coordinate with framing, electrical, and finish trades the way an MEP sub does, because that’s how a clean install actually happens.
How it’s going
Cruz Connect is now the low-voltage and IT trade of choice for healthcare buildouts across DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Most clients keep us on for ongoing IT support after opening, because the team that built the system is still the best team to keep it running. We’re just getting started.
Healthcare buildouts run on schedules that don’t bend. Construction loans charge interest. Lease-driven opening dates trigger rent abatement deadlines. Equipment vendors are watching their delivery slots. The low-voltage and IT trade has to slot into all of it without becoming the reason something slips.
That’s the job we built Cruz Connect to do. We design the system around the construction calendar, not the other way around. We coordinate rough-in with the framers and electricians, trim-out with the finishers, and final with whoever is delivering equipment. We document what we install. And we stay reachable after opening day, because the practices we build for keep operating long after the dumpster leaves the parking lot.
